Product Description "For the Living" chronicles the creation, design, and building of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. Combining extraordinary archival film footage and photos with on-location scenes at concentration camps in Poland, this program tells the story of both the victims and the survivors of the Holocaust, and shows how the museum has re-created and remembered this painful era through a living history. "For the Living" also traces the personal story of Yaffa Eliach, a Holocaust survivor who painstakingly compiled some 1,500 photos of Holocaust victims from her small Polish town of Ejszyski for the museum exhibit. Host and narrator Edward Asner shares his own recollecitons about his father and uncle, also from Ejszyski, who escaped before its annihilation.
