Amazon.com Product Description Get serious about your strength training at home with the Bowflex Xceed home gym, which includes a lat tower, squat station, leg attachment and adjustable pulley system for over 65 gym-quality exercises. It comes standard with 310 pounds of real Power Rod resistance. The integrated lat tower with angled lat bar helps to build back and shoulder muscles quickly. The upper and lower pulley/squat station enables you to do squats and build your gluts, hamstrings and quads. The Xceed also has multiple cable/pulley positions for custom workouts. With the included abs attachment, you'll be able to perform ab crunch exercises like in the gym. Advanced engineering allows you to get great results fast by specifically targeting abdominal and core muscles, and it also works great for lower back extension exercises. A locking mechanism allows easy in, easy out access, and a foam chest pad provides large, comfortable area to push on. The leg extension/leg curl attachment rivals specialized leg equipment found in gyms, and will help you develop strong, muscular legs. Efficient and easy to use, the leg attachment connects easily, and can be removed in seconds for using the squat station.
The Xceed Plus utilizes Bowflex's patented Power Rods, which provide resistance, or weight, that feels as good as or better than free weights--but without the inertia or risk of joint pain usually associated with free weights. | The Xceed utilizes Bowflex's patented Power Rods, which provide resistance, or weight, that feels as good as or better than free weights--but without the inertia or risk of joint pain usually associated with free weights. Manufacturer's Warranty 7-year limited warranty on materials and workmanship About Home Gyms While offering the convenience of working out in the comfort and privacy of your own home, home gyms also allow you to focus on specific routines without having to wait in line or switch between a complex array of machines. In addition to improving strength, power, coordination, and muscular endurance, weight training can enhance weight reduction, enhance the immune and cardiovascular systems, and help prevent injuries. In general, home gym machines are compact units designed to strengthen and exercise many parts of the body. While no single home gym can provide a complete strength training solution, they are a convenient way to combine many exercises into a single unit. Some home gyms focus exclusively on upper-body workouts, while other, more advanced units focus on upper- and lower-body conditioning.

Very Good - One Fix November 30, 2008 This is a great product. As others do, I suggest you get the 410 lb. upgrade, especially if you are stronger and/or have worked out in the past. The rating on the rods is most definitely not accurate. This doesn't have anything to do with the quality of workout you can perform on this machine, however. Last but not least...I was getting frustrated with the lat tower getting caught on the left and right arm pulleys. The directions tell you to put the arms on backwards (just check the pictures not in the installation manual)! Put them on with the knobs on the pulleys facing the rods and you will be much happier and won't have to redo it like I did.
Bowflex Review October 14, 2008 This Bowflex is wonderful. My husband and daughter put it together in about an hour with no problem. It works just great. We love it.
great machine, great program... but forget the ab crunch addition October 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Awesome machine and program. Despite all the critical things I've heard about it, this thing WORKS! Used a lot of different equipment and programs over the years, and the one key to all of them is, you have to do it! Started following the leanness program, yes including the 1500 cal/day eating plan, and lost 12 pounds in two weeks and fifteen pounds in three weeks. Following it pretty closely, doiung some substitions but following the guidelines for the meals, using some south beach snack bars... love it! Improved strenght, vitality, down a full pant size (was wearing 40's, down to a 38...), yada yada. This program woirks! People keep complaining about the cables... it's less cumbersome than switching weights, that's for sure! Only reason I didn't give five stars is the ab machine, works great but only hooks on one side so I don't get encough resistance. Oh well... I do SLOW situps instead. Other issue woudl be the rating of the resistance... that can't really be 310 pounds. SO, renumber the rods already and give a more accurate reading... but I don't actually care how much weight I'm pushing anyway. Not buying a #300 press sweatshirt any time soon LOL I'm kinda too old for that... all in all, I'm totally satisfied. great product, great price... best deal for fitness!
Excellent exercise machine if you learn how to use it September 23, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We've had a Bowflex Xceed for 6 months and my wife and I do every other day workouts. A lot of machine on a small footprint. The key to using the Xceed is to take the manual, figure out the basic exercises you want by muscle groups, then translate that into an exercise sequence on the machine so you make the fewest equipment changes between exercises. That way you focus on the exercises and not switching cables and handles. We have 9 basic exercises we do every time starting at the top part of the machine (pull downs) then mid (bench press, trunk rotation, abd. crunch--using hand grips, crossover rows)and finally the lower cables (biceps curl, standing lower back extension, leg extension.) The Ab attachment took too much time to setup and use during our workouts. We use the bench press cable setup to do simple crunches. We've seen steady improvement in our strength, energy and fitness. It was a great purchase for us.
