He played for the New York Yankees until his career was tragically cut short by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). George Herman Ruth, Jr. (February 6, 1895 - August 16, 1948), also known as Babe and The Great Bambino, was an American baseball player from 1914-1935.
