What a relief January 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this item maybe a week before Christmas, being in Alaska, we don't expect anything to be on time and the shipping quote said it would be in after Christmas. Turns out, it made it! And with a couple days to spare!
Just wanted to say THANK YOU!!
BoSox 2007 World Series vid January 12, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Being a lifelong Red Sox fan (since 1957-58 or so) you just know I will have a favorable review! While not as sweet as the 2004 compilation for obvious reasons( 1st WS victory in 86 years and putting the hated Yankees in the record books negatively FOREVER)!! it is still a nice compilation. I love having the games in their entirety and the extra DVD's with bonus material! The bonus stuff includes:
Clubhouse Celebration; 2007 World Series Trophy and MVP Presentation; AL Eastern Division and ALDS Clinching Highlights; Manny Ramirez s ALDS Game 2 Walk-Off Home Run; Team Interviews and 2007 Highlights like Clay Bucholz no hitter and the back to back to back to back homeruns! It was for me a great buy and I gave it as presents as well that pleased the recipients! So if you are a fan of baseball you'll really enjoy it and if you are member of Red Sox Nation you will absolutely love it! I look forward to the release of the 2008 set!:) Later.Mike GO SOX!!
Pretty Good, But Still Not Enough... December 26, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Just got this DVD set on hand last week. The picture quality is actually decent for a DVD.The source was shot in HD(FOX) and converted to DVD format. It's not in a full 4:3 format because you can see black bars on top and bottom of the TV screen. I am sure they will release a B-ray or HD DVD version in the future if they want to make more money. The bonus dvd includes some footage of Red Sox 2007 exciting moments like: 4 cons. HRs, Big Papi walkoff, clinching the AL East, Drew's GS, Manny's ALDS walkoff ...etc
A&E just doesn't get it. If it is so called "collector's edition". Well, collector's would want the whole set, not just the partial of it. Leaving out the Beckett game is so xxxx.
Next best thing to being there? December 26, 2007 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Although there's a BIG difference between being there and watching it after the fact, this DVD is a wonderful way to savor the memories.
A great DVD set December 26, 2007 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
The other reviews here are way too harsh. The video quality of this package is extremely good - all the games are in shown crisp widescreen, which makes for much better viewing than the 2004 World Series set (those were all presented in grainy 4:3). Obviously HD would be better, but this 2007 video looks pretty darn good all the same. I have no problem with MLB dropping the first few Cleveland games - other than the Beckett game 1 win, what Sox fan really cares about games 2-4 which the Sox lost? Some other here reviewers here are calling the 2007 World Series anti-climatic. Huh? I guess they weren't watching the same games I watched. I remember being on the edge of my seat throughout games 2 and 4 - these games were absolute nail biters (and 1 run decisions) that were a bounce away from being wins for the Rockies. Don't believe the negative reviews - any true Sox fan will enjoy this collection.
