Why does everything have to be a cost-saving, let's give em the absolute minimum. Why no widescreen? It is 2007 isn't it? Yes there are still people who don't have a widescreen TV, so why not offer the set in both standard and widescreen? I don't have a HD/BluRay player, but why not a HD release also? Why not include all ALCS games? If any of these issues have meaning to you, then this is not the product for you.

Would it kill MLB to put out a few extra DVD's for the ALDS and the first four games of the ALCS? Cheapskates. Other than web downloads (that don't work on a Mac) no other options are available. Well put together otherwise.

For everyone complaining about the completeness of this set, go to itune. Every ALDS, ALCS, WS games are available for download. This 2007 collector's edition is still a great christmas gift.

although i don't have this dvd set yet (it actually came in the mail today and i will get it on christmas) i can say you people should consider yourselves lucky for actually getting to see the ending. in the last game of the world series my cable went out between the top and bottom of the 8th inning and i therefore did not and still have not got to see my beloved red sox win and celebrate their second world series championship in 4 years. you people complaining that it is not in hd or widescreen should just feel lucky that you just got to see the damn thing let alone be whining that it is not in hd. the ones complaining about it not being widescreen unless you have a widescreen tv it was not broadcast in widescreen and who wants widescreen, i hate those damn bars, they are annoying. to the people who are holding out and waiting to buy a re-released version with all the alds and alcs games keep wishing. if you haven't noticed with the world series box sets for the white sox('05) and cardinals('06) they didn't include all alcs games either. they only have the ds clincher and cs clincher i think, i do know neither of them has all the games and it's not gonna happen for this set either. personally i don't know why someone would want to watch a game in which they know the results and they know that their team is gonna lose. it's one thing to watch a game live and have your team lose it's quite another to watch a game and know for sure your team WILL lose. also comparing the alcs comebacks from '04 and '07 are ridiculous i mean it is alot harder to comeback down 3-0 nothing to the yankees and have to win the last two game in hostile territory then to only have to come back down 3-1 against the indians and only have to win one game away from fenway. i mean it's the yankees is their anything more beautiful then watching not the red sox, but the yankees suffer THE worst collapse in baseball playoff history? it was awesome how they came back against the indians this year also and no disrespect to the tribe but honestly there is no comparing the two, ask any sox fan which victory was sweeter and none would say '07. '04 definitly had more historical importance and all the yankees games were a must to include but honestly the indians series it's not, although it would have been nice but for a $40-$50 less price tag it is a equal sacrifice i think. i will say this to conclude although '04 was more satisfying the '07 sox were a better team the best team in baseball and should have won the series, whereas the '04 version was good,i was thinking along with most sox fans "wait til next year, we don't have quite enough." '07 was a better team but '04 was more exciting.

Rating this set even before it came out is pretty ridiculous. Yes, ALCS games 1 through 4 are missing from this set. But what's here is absolutely beautiful. The image and sound quality is infinitely better than the 2004 compilation.
Would I like to have the full ALCS? Sure, but I waited over a year to buy the 2004 set because I didn't want to spend over a hundred bucks on it. This set, at ~$45, is a bargain and a decent trade-off.
