5 out of 5 stars Best movie ever   May 6, 2008
The twins win the world series every year whether they make the playoffs or not. I alway break out this movie in October. Even the most simple quotes stand out in my mind.

"Up next the light hitting Greg Gagne, definitely not a home run threat, certainly not thinking that way..."

4 out of 5 stars one of the classic series among all   April 11, 2008

The Minnesota Twins had last won the series in 1987. In 1991 they return with their star Kirby Puckett and beat a tough Atlanta team that was just starting to dominate the National League, The series had its ebb and flow with one team looking like the winner and then the other. But Puckett and the Twins prevailed in the end. ESPN rated this the greatest World Series ever. I don't agree with that but I will admit it was packed with excitement.

5 out of 5 stars And we'll see you... Tomorrow night!   July 22, 2005

This has to be the greatest movie that has ever been made. Not documentary, but movie in general. From start to finish it has it all. From the opening sequence with the Longfellow poem about the dreadful 1990 seasons of both of these teams, all the way through the inspirational Kenny Rogers song, "When You Put Your Heart In It" that plays through the montauge at the end.

Although I was a mere tot during this World Series, I will never forget its greatness. I still to this day will watch this movie several times each year with some of my buddies who equally appreciate its greatness.

We can all recite nearly the entire movie, from Ernie Harwell's flawless narration, to the weird but insightful commentary provided by both Buck, McCarver, and the fans.
(e.g. "Steal Chuck!" "Come on Chilllllay!" "Lucky Greg Olson's good..That was a great play wasn't it?...YEAH!!!!" "That's three home runs, that's three home runs!" "HERE COMES JUSTICE!" "And he is ouuuu....SAFE SAFE! they called him safe. AND ATLANTA WINS IT" "And We'll see you...Tomorrow Night!""The Twins are gonna win the world series, the Twins have won it!")

Sorry to everybody who hasn't seen this movie, because that is somewhat inside, but to those of you who have, I'm sure you also appreciate the awesomeness of all of those moments. If I haven't convinced you that you must buy this movie by now, then I guess I've failed. But trust me that it is truly the greatest peice of film that has ever been assembled.

Now all I need to do is find a way to but that "Baseball 1991: A video Yearbook" movie that they preview in the beginning.

Happy viewing and GO TWINS!

5 out of 5 stars The Greatest World Series of All Time   March 27, 2005

ESPN has rated this the #1 World Series of all time (http://espn.go.com/swf/mlb/anniversary/worldseries_100.html), and for good reason, too.

* Both Atlanta and Minnesota were last place teams only a year prior. While Atlanta went on to become a dynasty afterwards, 1991 was Minnesota's year to shine.

* Five of the seven games were decided by 1 run.

* Three of the games went into extra innings, including Game 7.

* Jack Morris' 10-inning pictching shutout in Game 7 has is one of the most memorable pitching performances in World Series history.

* EVERY ONE OF THESE GAMES WAS EXCITING! These weren't dull baseball games. Every one of these games had moments of gut-wrenching goodness. From untimely errors, to unlikely home runs, to bitter feelings of officiating, to spectacular defensive plays, to the gut-wrenching Game 7 ending. This series featured a never-ending array of brilliant moments.

I was only a 10-year-old child in 1991, but as a born and raised Minnesotan, and with baseball being the only thing I lived for (even at that age), I didn't miss a game of this World Series. I received a copy of this tape for Christmas that year, and still own it to this day. The video captures the highlights of the series wonderfully. If you didn't have the opportunity to see the games yourself, this is as good as you're going to get.

If you're a baseball fan, this is a must-have. If you're a Minnesotan, this is a must-have. No excuses.
